11 x 14 inches watercolor on 140lb watercolor paper a touch of goauche on the fur
I fought and fought with the composition on this one in my sketchbook. I even wasted 2 sheets of watercolor paper that I thought I liked it, but then realized they sucked. T_T I came across this composition and was struck by the fullness of the land, and the loneliness of the rabbit. I have been out on snowy nights like this, and I feel so alone, but alive and full at the same time. (does that make sense?) Once I got this composition going, it was like the work told me what colors to use and how. I could nitpik myself for a few brushstrokes or color hues, but I am very happy with this one.  EDIT: Realized how small file was, got it bigger so you can see detail. |

and yeah, i kinda know what you're talking about when you say you wasted watercolor papers....i always get kinda nervous when i'm drawing on watercolour paper, because i know that they are expensive and i can't buy them everywhere.
