The Master Sword clanked against the floor again, knocked from Link's hand. The shadow jumped back and smirked from his successful attack. He charged again, and Link dodged and rolled, fumbling for his sword with his right hand. Link did not have time for a proper guard, and blocked the ariel assult. The shadow jumped away again, smirking, knowing that it is only a matter of time.

I had SO MUCH FUN doing this! I was commissioned to do this, I was so excited, I wanted to do a piece like this for years, but never made the time. I did composition studies, a final sketch seen here. I even started playing LoZ: OoT Master Quest to inspire me with colors and enjoying the characters again.

On a technical level, I inked with a brush, it was so nice, I did not feel rushed and got the edges right. I also used masking fluid to save the whites of the paper, I love how those turned out. I'll probably add some more white areas with white goauche. I'm kinda sad I have to mail it off tomorrow. Oh well, that's what digital files are for.
