Journal Entry: Thu Mar 6, 2008, 8:33 PM
International Women's Week Features

I am so blessed to be a part of this community. I wish I had the time to properly feature and learn more about you all. Though I hope I can give you some insight of some other women artists on dA in appreciation of

The group that I was able to get answers from is wide and varied like dA itself. Some are just starting their professional artistic journeys and other use it as a pursuit of fun happiness and life. All are great way to share art!

What is your current occupation?
my current occupation is student haha. i graduate with my bachelors in science for apparel design this spring and will be applying to grad school. i dont think i ever want a serious job. chances are i will end up working back up in a skateboard shop.<3

What do you want to do with your art?
with my art...i am never sure. i just want to be left alone to paint somedays and other days i want to create stories...well. actually i think that's it exactly. i want to tell stories with my work <3

What does being an artist mean to you?
to me being an artist is really simple and very essential. it's an expression...or reaction...an emotion you have to get out in an instant like to laugh or cry or smile.

Has any woman inspired you artistically or personally? Who?
there are a million women who inspire me artistically...to keep the list short i will stick to artists and say lately i like works that are part of the japanese 'superflat' movement, especially aya takano, and the simple line drawings from chinatsu ban.

Who are some of your favorite dA artists?
i think everyone on da becomes my favourite when i meet them lol. i love to meet new people so i love da. it is a full circle! but between people who i have known a very long time, and people who put up with my nonsense: =zombiepoptarts =vacuumslayer and =OmahaNebraska ~bloodykirka just to name very few <3 i always find inspirations and suprising things in their galleries.

What is your current occupation?
I'm a stay-home Mom, with our lifestyle, moving from one country to the next, it's kind of hard for me to work.

What do you want to do with your art?
At the moment since i just learned the basic about painting, i mostly do this as a hobby, painting pieces for our house and some i make to give as a presents to friends and families.

What does being an artist mean to you?
My, since i'm not a big timer artist for i'm just self-teaching myself, i try to do what i feel and think right for my art, try to do my best and learn more if i can. I try not to compare myself to others for everybody has our own style and preferences.

Has any woman inspired you artistically or personally? Who?
This is an easy answer or sort of. Ok, artist genes runs in my family (father side) from my Dad, Uncles (whos' an architect too), my big brother, cousins who are into comics and the like... So, when we were posted in Sydney, Australia, (being bored in the house) decided to k=join the community service classes (did the art) for i thought maybe i've got some hidden talent too... I tried from drawing, pastels, water-colour to oil painting and stick to the latter for i prefer it. ;)

Who are some of your favorite dA artists?
DA has an amazing great artists, i have a lot of favorites, and all of them are unique and have their own style. DA inspire me actually to do more and such a great site to get information and to learn from other artists.
